Heavy-duty industrial float valves serve as flow control equipment tailored for high-pressure, high-abrasion conditions in metallurgy, mining, power generation, and petrochemical industries. Their core mechanism employs a float-linked stem to automatically regulate media replenishment and achieve precise liquid level control. Combining impact resistance, wear resistance, and stable sealing properties, these valves are critical components for maintaining liquid level and flow equilibrium within heavy industrial systems.

Core Structure and Operating Principle

Structural Design: Constructed with cast steel or stainless steel valve bodies, featuring high-strength alloy float balls. Incorporates wear-resistant valve seats and anti-seizing valve stem mechanisms, with optional buffer devices and overload protection components to withstand heavy industrial vibration and impact environments.

Floating Ball Valve for Heavy-Duty Industrial Applications

Control Principle: The float rises and falls with the liquid level. Via a linkage mechanism, it drives the valve stem to adjust the valve core opening. When the liquid level reaches the preset upper limit, the valve automatically closes to halt flow. As the level drops, it automatically opens to replenish water. This achieves autonomous control without external power. When paired with a solenoid valve, it can be upgraded for remote automated regulation.

Advantages for Heavy-Duty Applications

Wear and Impact Resistance: Valve bodies undergo quenching or are lined with rubber/ceramic to withstand erosion from particulate-laden media like slurry or slag water. Structural strength meets Class 150–600 (PN16–PN100) pressure ratings.

Reliable Sealing, Leak Prevention: Employing combinations of metal hard seals or wear-resistant soft seals, achieving API 6D Class IV leakage ratings. Operates reliably within a temperature range of -40°C to 450°C in high-temperature conditions, suitable for steam, high-temperature water, and similar media.

Stable, Interference-Resistant: Equipped with anti-sway float balls and damping devices to maintain stable liquid levels under conditions of strong vibration or fluctuating media, preventing component wear caused by frequent opening and closing.

Maintenance Convenience: Utilises flanged quick-connect fittings for rapid disassembly and servicing. Wear part replacement requires no system shutdown, minimising downtime losses in heavy industrial production lines.

Metallurgical Mining: Level control in blast furnace slag systems and mineral processing plant slurry tanks, withstanding erosion from highly abrasive media.
