Established in 1952, Beijing Valve General Factory, with abbreviation BVMC, was a large state-owned enterprise in manufacturing high and medium pressure valves and steam traps designated by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, and had made great contributions to the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" Project. After more than 70 years of accumulation and growth, BVMC has become one of the Top 500 Chinese machinery enterprises, and acts as a Vice chairman unit of the Valve Branch of China General Machinery Industry Association, a member unit of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, and a member unit of the Valve Committee of the State Administration of Market Supervision.

BVMC is a certified supplier of global energy giants CNPC, SINOPEC, CNOOC,  ADNOC, KPC, NIOC, Rosneft, UZneftgaz etc. and collaborate with multiple international EPC contractors CPECC, SEI, CPP, Wison, Samsung, Tecnimont, DESCON etc. The valve products are exported to a wide range of regions, including the Middle East, Russia, Southeast Asia, Africa, North and South America, and Europe.

BVMC has developed a diverse product portfolio spanning over a dozen categories, comprising more than 70catalogries, 600 series and 3,000+ specialized models to meet various industry needs and widely used in dozens of major industries, including petroleum, natural gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, power generation, metallurgy,water conservancy, water utilities, urban construction, and national defense technology.

In 2016, Zhonghong Foundary, a wholly-owned subsidiary, established in Handan Production Base, is the first Chinese enterprise that owns five most advanced automatic production lines for castings and forgings.

At present, BVMC has become a modern, intelligent, informationized, automated and service-oriented enterprise that integrates R&D, casting, machining and sales, and has formed a development pattern that takes Beijing as the headquarters and Handan as the production base.
