Quick Closing PTFE Lined Butterfly valve

The Quick Closing PTFE Lined Butterfly Valve is a specialized valve designed for rapid shut-off control of corrosive media in industrial pipeline systems. By combining the superior corrosion resistance of PTFE lining with the fast response of a quick-closing actuator, it is widely used in chemical processing, electroplating, pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment. It plays a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient operation of pipelines handling corrosive fluids.

Core Structure and Working Principle
The valve body is typically constructed from carbon steel or cast steel and internally lined with integrally molded PTFE. The lining is seamless and uniform in thickness, completely isolating the process medium from the metal body. The disc is also coated with PTFE, working together with a PTFE seat to form a fully corrosion-resistant sealing assembly.

The valve is equipped with a pneumatic or hydraulic quick-closing actuator, often combined with a spring-return mechanism. The opening and closing response time is ≤1 second, enabling emergency shut-off capability. Structurally, the valve commonly adopts a centerline design, where the disc rotation axis aligns with the valve body centerline. During closing, the disc compresses the PTFE seat to form an elastic, tight seal. When fully open, the disc aligns parallel to the flow path, resulting in minimal flow resistance and high flow capacity.

To ensure operational safety, the valve is fitted with a blowout-proof stem and corrosion-resistant packing, effectively preventing media leakage along the stem.

  • Fast and Reliable Shut-Off: The spring-return actuator automatically closes the valve in the event of power or air failure, providing immediate isolation of the medium.   • Excellent Sealing and Flow Performance: The PTFE soft-seal design achieves API 6D Class VI leakage rating, delivering near-zero leakage. The fully lined, smooth flow path prevents material buildup, reducing the risk of clogging and secondary corrosion.

  • Low Maintenance Cost: PTFE lining offers high wear resistance and aging resistance, with a mechanical service life exceeding 30,000 cycles. Wear parts mainly include the seat and disc coating, which can be replaced during online maintenance, minimizing downtime.

Quick-closing PTFE-lined butterfly valves are commonly used in chemical pipelines for acid and alkali transfer, electroplating wastewater treatment systems, pharmaceutical raw material feed lines, and emergency shut-off circuits for pesticide production reactors. They are particularly suitable for applications requiring both high corrosion resistance and rapid shut-off performance.
