High-pressure Industrial Slab Gate Valves

High-pressure industrial slab gate valves are critical control devices in high-pressure pipeline systems. Centered on the precise matching of a flat gate plate and floating seats, and combined with the convenience of flanged connections and the pressure resistance of cast steel materials, they have become a preferred solution for high-pressure media transmission in industries such as petroleum, chemical processing, and power generation. Their primary function is to provide reliable on/off control and effective system isolation.

In terms of structural design, the valve adopts a modular configuration with clearly defined advantages in its key components. The valve body is manufactured from high-quality materials such as WCB cast steel and A105 forged steel, while ultra-high-pressure models use chromium-molybdenum steels (F11/F22). Through integral forging and thick-wall machining, the body exhibits excellent impact resistance and deformation resistance. The slab gate is available in two types—with or without a through conduit hole. The sealing surfaces are overlay welded with hardfacing alloys or Stellite cobalt-based alloys, providing outstanding wear and corrosion resistance without frictional wear, significantly extending service life. The floating seat design enables bidirectional sealing, using the line pressure to achieve self-energized sealing. Leakage performance meets ANSI B16.104 Class V requirements, and some models support grease injection for auxiliary sealing, offering dual assurance of sealing reliability. The stem undergoes quenching, tempering, and nitriding treatment, and together with a triple adjustable packing structure, ensures zero leakage under high pressure while allowing smooth operation. Actuation options include manual, electric, pneumatic, and gear-driven types to meet various automation control requirements.

Key technical parameters cover a wide range: nominal sizes from DN25 to DN600, pressure ratings from PN10 to PN420 (Class 150 to 2500 LB), with ultra-high-pressure models reaching PN1000. Depending on material selection, the operating temperature ranges from –29 °C to 650 °C. Carbon steel valves are suitable for –29 °C to 425 °C, while high-temperature alloys can withstand extreme conditions from –196 °C to 650 °C. Connection standards comply with ASME B16.5, HG/T 20592, and related specifications, with flange facing options including flat face and raised face.

In terms of performance, these valves combine reliable sealing, efficient flow capacity, and robust construction. The full-bore design minimizes flow resistance, resulting in pressure drops approximately 20% lower than those of conventional gate valves and facilitating pipeline pigging operations. The valve body is validated through finite element analysis to withstand high-pressure impacts and thermal fluctuations. Manufacturing and testing strictly follow standards such as API 6D, GB/T 12234, and JB/T 5298. The valves are suitable for water, oil products, natural gas, steam, and corrosive media containing H₂S and CO₂, and are widely used in oil and gas transmission pipelines, chemical processing units, and power plant steam pipelines under high-pressure service conditions.
