High-temperature Steam Straight-through Globe Valve
High-temperature steam straight-through globe valves are control valves specifically designed for high-temperature steam service. Featuring a straight-through flow path, a full-bore ball structure, and high-temperature-resistant sealing technology, they are well suited for high-temperature and high-pressure steam transmission systems in industries such as power generation, petrochemical processing, and metallurgy. These valves enable rapid on/off operation and precise flow control, while offering the core advantages of compact structure and reliable operation.
The structural design focuses on high-temperature adaptability. The valve body is manufactured from chromium–molybdenum alloy steels such as WC6 and WC9, or Inconel high-temperature alloys. It is produced by integral forging, with wall thickness designed in accordance with ASME B16.34 to withstand thermal shock and stress deformation under high-temperature conditions. The ball is solid-forged from austenitic stainless steel, with solution heat treatment applied to enhance high-temperature stability. The sealing surfaces are overlay welded with Stellite 6 or cobalt-based hardfacing alloys (hardness ≥ HRC 58), providing excellent wear resistance and resistance to high-temperature oxidation.

The valve seat adopts a flexible metal sealing structure combined with graphite-reinforced PTFE or metal-wound gaskets. An internal spring preloading mechanism automatically compensates for thermal expansion and wear at elevated temperatures, achieving leakage performance in accordance with ANSI B16.104 Class V. The stem is made from 25Cr2MoV alloy structural steel and undergoes quenching, tempering, and nitriding treatment. Together with a dual sealing system of flexible graphite and metal-braided packing, it ensures zero leakage under high temperature and high pressure. Actuation options include manual, electric (intelligent modulating actuators), and pneumatic types to meet automation control requirements.
Key technical parameters include nominal sizes from DN15 to DN300 (1/2"–12"), pressure ratings from PN16 to PN420 (Class 150 to 2500 LB), and an operating temperature range of 200 °C to 650 °C, with special material versions capable of withstanding extreme temperatures up to 800 °C. Connection types include flanged ends (in accordance with ASME B16.5 and GB/T 9113) and butt-welded ends, making the valve suitable for steam piping systems. Manufacturing and testing strictly follow standards such as ASME B16.34, API 598, and GB/T 12224, including high-temperature pressure tests, sealing performance tests, and non-destructive examinations.
In terms of performance, the valve offers three key advantages. First, it provides stable high-temperature performance: the material selection and structural design accommodate the thermal expansion characteristics of high-temperature steam, eliminating the risk of sticking or deformation. Second, it ensures long-lasting sealing: the metal sealing pair and automatic compensation mechanism can withstand continuous steam erosion over long periods. Third, it delivers efficient flow performance: the straight-through full-bore flow path minimizes flow resistance and pressure drop, enabling rapid steam transmission. These valves are suitable for superheated steam and saturated steam, and are typically applied in boiler steam pipelines of thermal power plants, steam systems of heating furnaces in petrochemical units, and steam heat-exchange pipelines in metallurgical industries under high-temperature service conditions.
